United Concordia Coverage Availability & Fees

United Concordia offers group health insurance; they do not offer individual plans. When you signed up for dental insurance through your employer, you may have had a choice of plans, each with its own unique details and stipulations. Here is a general overview of the types of policies that United Concordia offers:

  • Concordia Preferred is a traditional PPO plan. Therefore, you have the freedom to visit any dentist. Coverage rates tend to be higher at in-network dental offices, such as Dream Dental. There is also an annual maximum (the most Concordia will pay out for services in a given year).
  • Concordia Flex is also a PPO plan with an annual maximum. However, it offers the same coverage percentage regardless of whether a dentist is in Concordia’s network. Visiting an in-network dentist may still be more affordable because Concordia has pre-negotiated fees with such doctors.
  • Concordia Plus is a DHMO, which means that you are required to visit an in-network dentist if you wish to use your benefits. Typically, DHMO plans do not come with an annual maximum, and there are preset fees for each type of service you may receive.

When you visit our dental office for treatment, we’ll verify your coverage and help you figure out how it relates to your treatment. We can also give you reliable estimates for how much you’ll have to pay for certain services.

Since we are a United Concordia dentist in Woodstock, we can even give you expert tips on how to get the most out of your coverage. For example, we might suggest that you break up major treatments across two calendar years so you are less likely to exceed your annual maximum.
